SCHOOL DISMISSAL - PARENTS ARE IN CHARGE
School Dismissal Manager
Using School Dismissal Manager is a fantastic tool which puts control of how your student goes home in the afternoon back in your hands while allowing us to focus on the safety of your student.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Dismissal changes MUST be made by 2:40 p.m. in order for them to reach Snowshoe's end of the day reports, which tells our teachers whether to put kids on the bus or in the pickup line.
Parents are required to use School Dismissal Manager to make any changes to your students dismissal instructions. If you need assistance using this important app, please contact our front office at 907-352-9500. We are happy to assist parents with the proper use of SDM to insure that your students are exactly where they should be at the end of the school day. Again, parents are in control of how students get home safely each day.

Matanuska Susitna Borough Student Recess Policy
(posted in the 2019-2020 Student Handbook)
Regular exposure to fresh air and vigorous exercise is essential to a child's physical well-being, daily periods of outdoor activity are strongly encouraged. Inclement weather is an obvious deterrent to maintenance of a daily schedule. As general criteria, the District recommends:
- Down to -10: regularly scheduled recesses
- Below -10: indoor recess
The weather conditions will be carefully monitored and recess may be moved indoors at the discretion of the Principal.
Students go outside everyday for 30 minutes of recess. Please assure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.
A warm coat, snowpants, a hat, gloves, and boots are all necessary items for our cold winter to keep students warm during their recess.
