400 meter run

I. Athletes are grouped in the following categories: 5th Grade Girls, 5th Grade Boys, 4th Grade Girls, 4th Grade Boys

II. The 400-meter race is run in separate heats of 8 - 16 runners.

III. Runners will start in assigned lanes, at the 200 m exchange zone lines.  Runners will be able to cut in to lane 1 at the end of the first turn.

IV. No final race; the top five times from all heats will place.
