UPDATED March 24th 2020:

Hello BLE Families! I have missed seeing all of your eager and smiling faces this week and have been thinking often of you and yours. Since school will be from afar until May 1st, we will not be able to do our May 7th concert.
I will be posting resources and activities to enrich your learning through this time in my google classroom. I will be reaching out to band, choir, and keyboarding students to see about using Zoom to do sectionals or small group lessons from afar.  If your student is interested in having a private lesson (with parent/guardian supervision) please don't hesitate to contact me at or call me at 892-9743.
3rd grade Recorder Karate just started up. I will post updates through Remind text as well as the Google Classroom.
My office hours are 8:45-4:15. Don't hesitate to reach out to me at any other time, just know that I might not get back to you until those hours. I understand how all of our routines are adjusting and I hope I can help you when you need it, so don't hesitate to contact me at any time.
If you are looking for something to help your kids learn about the Coronavirus in a kid friendly way, our school counselor suggested this video that I enjoyed:  and here's a great comic that helps explain it as well. Comic for Kids on Coronavirus
Still looking for more to do? I will post a list in my google classroom soon of online resources that are available (whether just during this Coronavirus era or in general).
Stay safe, stay healthy, and take advantage of this time to grow at home!

Is your child interested in learning to play piano? Mrs. Hardman offers group piano lessons through Keyboarding Club Tuesdays at 8:15 am through the year (it's already started, but late comers are always welcome!). Pick up a permission slip at the office. Any 2nd through 5th grader is welcome to come and learn!

CHOIR NEWS - MEETING VIA ZOOM until May 1st. Look for a Remind text.

If your child loves to sing we would love to have them join our Choir! Choir is available to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders. It is offered Wednesdays & Thursdays 8:15am-9am. If you would like to join, stop by the office to pick up a permission slip! Choir started August 21st and goes through the school year.

Next Choir performance: in-school performance for the preschoolers is to be determined. Wear your choir shirts (I have some that can be borrowed if needed). Check out the recordings to practice with.

Thank you to all those that auditioned for honor choir.  Unfortunately, the honor festival has been cancelled. Feel free to enjoy playing the music for fun and a chance to improve at home.

BAND NEWS - MEETING VIA ZOOM until May 1st. Look for a Remind text.

Thank you to all those that auditioned for honor band. Unfortunately, the honor festival has been cancelled. Feel free to enjoy playing the music for fun and a chance to improve at home.

If your child wants to learn how to play an instrument we would love them to join our Band! Band is offered to 4th and 5th graders during the school day with the expectation that they will attend all of their evening concerts (about 2 or 3 through the year). See the link for the band info packet to decide if joining band is a good choice for your child. Instrument rentals are available but on a first-come first-serve basis so please let Mrs. Hardman know as soon as possible if you are interested in renting from the school. Band started on the 1st day of school, but if your child wants to join latecomers are still welcome! Band Information Packet

FYI - Band class is on Day 1. See the schedule to figure out what day your sectionals meet.
