• Grade Point Average

    Grade Point Average is computed via the following system:

    * GPA = grade points divided by number of classes enrolled

    A = 4 points
    B = 3 points
    C = 2 points
    D = 1 point
    F or NC = 0 points and/or loss of credit ~ counted in GPA

    P = 0 points ~ not counted in GPA

    NCP = will not be counted in GPA

    Grade points are totaled for each semester and divided by the number of classes for which a student is enrolled. If, for example, the student's grades are:

    COURSE GRADE GRADE POINTS
    English I

    C

    2

    Algebra

    B

    3

    Aerobics

    B

    3

    Physical Science

    B

    3

    Drafting I

    C

    2

    Chorus

    C

    2

    The grade point average would be computed by dividing 15 points by 6 to equal a 2.5 GPA

    Class rank is established with the highest GPA ranked #1, the second highest #2, etc.  If two students have the same GPA, both students will be ranked the same number.

    Advanced Placement (AP) and certain CTE courses are weighted ~ A=5, B=4, C=3
