The Mat-Su Borough School District offers three district-wide diploma options designed to support different student goals and post-high school plans. MSBSD graduation requirements reflect some of the highest standards in Alaska and are intended to prepare students for success after high school. Students may earn a Standard Diploma, Honors Diploma, or Honors with Distinction Diploma, depending on their coursework and academic goals.

For the Class of 2026, students will be recognized as valedictorian and salutatorian based on the highest GPA in the highest diploma option earned, as well as students who would have qualified under previous guidelines. This may result in co-valedictorians or co-salutatorians.

Beginning with the Class of 2027, valedictorian and salutatorian will be determined solely by the highest GPA earned within the highest diploma option achieved.
