Medicare Billing

The Alaska Department of Health and Social Services is encouraging Alaskan school districts to implement programs to bill Medicaid for school-based behavioral health services and therapies.  Pacific Health Policy Group, a consulting group specializing in implementation of Medicaid programs, was contracted by the State to investigate the feasibility and potential savings to districts utilizing a billing program. PHPG found that on average school districts would save approximately $495 per student receiving Medicaid-eligible therapeutic services.
