Sara Lamont is thrilled to be teaching kindergarten at Larson Elementary.  She graduated from Moorhead State University in Moorhead, Minnesota with a double major, elementary education and mathematics for secondary education, as well as being a certified coach.  In 1989 she moved to Alaska and taught preschool and kindergarten for four years in the bush village of Wales.  She moved to Wasilla in 1993 and began teaching third grade at Finger Lake Elementary School.  After teaching third grade for four years, she returned to teaching kindergarten at Finger Lake Elementary, then Iditarod Elementary, and finally Larson Elementary.  While working in the Mat-Su Borough School District, Sara has coached fourth and fifth grade basketball and has coordinated the district elementary basketball jamboree.  Her math background has been utilized while helping the district write its math curriculum.  She has also coached the 3rd-5th grade Larson Mathletes.  When she is not busy working at the school, she enjoys hiking all of the great trails in the area, loves to read, volunteers with the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, and tries to keep her pet cat happy with lots of “Tabby Time.”
