CMS Flag Football
Flag football is a great opportunity for middle school age athletes to learn hard work, teamwork, and the basics of the game of football. Flag football is played 5 on 5 on a smaller field with an emphasis on skills strategy. We will be following the rules and guidelines as outlined by the NFL Play 60 Flag Football program. We are excited to offer flag football here at CMS for the first time and we are looking forward to a fun and competitive season. If you have any questions about flag football, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of the coaches or please visit the NFL Play 60 Flag Football website, https://nflflag.com/
Picture Day will be May 10 during practice.

Greetings CMS Flag Football Families,
We are grateful for the opportunity that you have given us to coach your young men. We are looking forward to getting to know them and we anticipate a fun and productive season.
We want to take a minute to cover and clarify a few quick details about the season. Practice will be every day after school, 2:30-4:00. We will not have practice on game days or if there is no school. Players need to be picked up by 4:10 at the latest. If a situation arises, please do not hesitate to contact us, so we can make arrangements if necessary.
Games will be held on Thursdays or Fridays. We will pass along more details as soon as we have them. Players will ride the bus to all away games. Players need to be picked up from the field after their games.
We are not yet sure if we will have home games, but if we do, players will stay after school for home games. They will sit together as a team and support our other teams if they don’t play first. If an exception needs to be made, please communicate with us prior to the game.
Players need to have the following equipment:
- Mouth guard (green, black, white, or grey strongly recommended)
- Black shorts (preferably no pockets)
- Cleats (optional but recommended)
- Receiver gloves (optional, school colors are greatly preferred)
We respectfully ask that everyone keeps in mind that this is our first year of flag football and that there will be a lot for all of us to learn along the way. We will do our best to gather as much information as possible and get it out to you as soon as we have it. We will be communicating via email throughout the season. We are very excited to have the opportunity to build a flag football program here at CMS, but please give us grace along the way as we navigate new territory. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. Our desire is to keep you informed as best we can, and you may very well be asking questions that we haven’t thought of yet, which will be very helpful to us.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Respectfully,
Coach Fischer and Coach Gilland
