Welcome to Preschool at Larson Elementary!
We are located in Room 111. Our class begins at 9:15 am and ends at 2 pm, Monday through Friday.
Our preschool program is called ASPIRE. It stands for ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis), Share, Play, Interact, Relate, and Educate. The program provides services to 3-5-year-olds with significant needs who typically require early and intensive intervention in highly structured settings. ASPIRE Preschool integrates the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and other evidence-based practices to develop skills related to language, communication, play, social skills, and behavior.
A little about me: I have lived in Alaska since the summer of 2013 and now officially consider it home. I grew up in Texas and most of my family is still living there. I have a husband and two children and we love to play and recreate outside as much as we can in this beautiful state! For many years, I worked in the outdoor education scene leading backpacking and sea kayaking trips for NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School). I later became the resident farmer at the NOLS Alaska campus where my husband has worked since 2010, as we started our family. While farming, I returned to school at UAS to get my Master's Degree in Special Education and now am so thrilled to be working at Larson Elementary with such an amazing staff and team!
