Degrees and Certifications:

Anita Mosier

Hello district families!  My name is Anita Mosier, and I a speech-language pathologists (SLP) based at our Itinerant Speech Intensive Program, Wasilla site, at Cottonwood Creek Elementary School.  We are excited to pilot this new program to best meet your student's speech needs.  On a personal note, my family moved to Alaska when I was in middle school and I am a former graduate of Wasilla High School.  I attended St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN where I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication Disorders (speech pathology).  I started working in the MSBSD fall of 2002.  During my time as a school-based clinician I have had the opportunity to work in most of our district programs including preschool, elementary, middle, high school, charter, homeschool (MSC), and even our Next Step programs.

I am employed part time and love working in the early childhood age range.  Outside of work I keep busy with my husband and three children ages seven, five and three.  We enjoy hunting, fishing, camping, biking, and reading as a family.

Regarding home practice and parent communication your student will be given a speech folder with weekly home practice as well as occasional informational handouts and speech activities that you can review at home with your student.  I love communicating with and hearing from my parents and caregivers on how their student is doing at home and what is or is not working well regarding communication needs.

Feel free to reach out at any time during the year with questions.  I can be reached on my office phone at 864-2116 or by email  I am in the office Tuesdays, Thursdays all day and Fridays in the morning.
