Hello! My name is Johnny Kirby and I have the greatest job in the world. I'm a teacher at Glacier View School, teaching America's greatest natural resource, our children! This is my 13th year as a teacher and my 2nd year at Glacier View.
I grew up in the Ozarks of Oklahoma and Arkansas. Agriculture and petroleum are the industries that raised me and taught me the importance of work and providing for family. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science and Natural Resources from Oklahoma State University and an Associate's Degree in Refrigeration and Heating Technology from UAA at Mat-Su, in Palmer, Alaska. My Family and I have lived in Alaska since 1997, with the exception of leaving the state for a few years to attend to the illnesses of our parents. My wife and I have two children. One is in college and the other is graduating High School. We call the area from Palmer to Glennallen, home. We have rasied our children here and it will forever be our home. I am so proud to be part of Glacier View School and enjoy taking part with Glacier View CERT program.
My hobbies include spending time with, my family, our church, experimenting with all forms of agriculture, beekeeping, fishing, hunting, archery, all shooting sports, motorcycles, mechanics, carpentry, amateur radio, traveling Alaska, working fairs / festivals with my friends, and family. I enjoy life, teaching and look forward to meeting you.
