Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Vivianne Huber
I am Mrs. Huber. I am the life skills teacher here at Mat-Su Day School, and I have worked with individuals with special needs for over 20 years. I have experience both in hospitals and in schools, dividing my time between teaching and working as a clinical/mental health therapist. My passion, however, is working with individuals with autism and the families that support and surround them.
My passion for advocating for autism began with my niece. I saw her struggles with autism, and I wanted to learn all that I could to better support my own family in their journey to understand her needs. From there, I began to advocate for other families in their unique journeys with their loved ones—working to ensure they knew the services that were available to them and how to acquire them, as well as raising awareness and understanding in others who do not live with autism in their daily lives.
When I am not teaching, I like to relax with my family. We are long-time Alaskans and enjoy anything that can be done outdoors.
