Mrs. Benson at Hatcher's Pass Welcome to Kindergarten! This year our class will be working hard to develop a deep understanding of the foundation skills of learning. Students will be exploring the alphabet, learning the ways sound blend together to make words and begin reading. We will also be learning about number concepts that will help build a strong base for skills learned in the future.   Your child will be offered opportunities to explore all of these areas through the use on hands on activities and technology.

I am excited to be your child's teacher for the 2019-20 school year. This year marks my fourth full year teaching Tanaina Elementary. My family moved to the Matsu Valley in 2012. Prior to that we spent many years traveling around the country with the United States Air Force. This has allowed us to have many amazing adventures together.  My family includes, myself, my husband, two boys and a very spoiled dog.  My oldest son is a senior at Matsu Career Tech High School and my youngest son is in sophomore grade at Colony High School. We all enjoy playing music together and between us we play 7 instruments.  Aside from being a teacher, I am also a musician with the Matsu Concert Band. My family and I enjoy spending time together riding bikes, working in the garden, and traveling around our wonderful state.

Volunteers are always welcome in my classroom. If you are interested please let me know and we can work out a good time and day.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns at anytime.
