James Shetter

Mr. James Shetter has been teaching for 19 years in both the Mat-Su and Anchorage School districts.  Mr. Shetter has spent several years serving as the head coach for WHS Native Youth Olympic (NYO) Team who won the 2009 and 2010 NYO State Championship.  He also coached football for 20 seasons as an assistant football in Alaska and the head football coach for three seasons at WHS. During the 2008 football season, Mr. Shetter was honored as the Coach of the Year in Football representing WHS and also represented the State of Alaska at the 2009 NFL Youth Summit in Canton, Ohio. Mr. Shetter also competed in college as a varsity athlete in football at Sierra College and Sacramento St. Mr. Shetter was born in Alaska and is an East High graduate and a true Alaskan Native Educator which he earned his Bachler degree from University of Alaska of Anchorage and his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Alaska of Juneau.
