Mrs. Dressel

Welcome to 4th Grade! I am so excited to be joining the Meadow Lakes community this year.

I have been working in education from an early age. Both my parents were educators and I used to spend many hours playing in the school, and later helping set up their classrooms. I was blessed to have two incredible teachers as an early example of what influential teaching looks like! My desire to explore and learn about other cultures led me to teach in China, India, and Nepal, and the villages in the Bering Strait. I have also worked as a museum educator, coach, ELL trainer, tutor, and after school club director.

My passion as a teacher is to empower each individual child and help them reach their learning goals. I aim to create a safe and encouraging classroom family of learners. My hope is that each child in my classroom will know that they are special, capable, and valued. I love to teach and I love to see the smiling faces of my students each morning!

When I'm not at school, you will probably find me somewhere outside. I love Alaska and all that it has to offer! Gardening, hiking, fishing, gathering, hunting, and snowshoeing are just a few of the activities enjoy. If I am indoors, then I enjoy reading, canning, making jewelry, and playing volleyball.

I look forward to a fantastic year with my class! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, insights, or comments about your child.
