If you are looking for summer work and are 16 yrs or older, please check out the student summer jobs the school district has open. Pay is $10/hour. Please call Human Resource Dept., 907-746-9250, for questions or help completing the Applitrack Application. Deadline to apply is May 1st. At this time, Houston Jr/Sr. High is not a summer work site.
AKCIS (Alaska Career Information System) is an excellent resource for students and parents to explore career interests and career information. Students can build a Career Portfolio (to include job search, resume, college/vocational search, recommendation letters, and school transcript).
Teen Central Website maintained by Kids Peace- The National Center for Kids Overcoming Crisis. Website topics include bullying, opiod use, teen dating violence, LGBTQ challenges, running away, and national hotlines.
UAF RAHI Application The University of Alaska- Fairbanks campus offers a six week long summer camp for students in rural communities (Houston High School included) to earn between 8-11 college credits all expenses paid! Students must have 3.0+ GPA to be considered. Hurry! The application deadline is March 1st.
