Degrees and Certifications:
Welcome to second grade! What an amazing adventure we get to embark on together!
The 2019-2020 school year marks my 8th year teaching in Alaska. This will be my 2nd year in second grade, spending the the previous six years as a special education resource teacher working with students from Kindergarten through fourth grade, for the Anchorage School district and the Mat-Su school district.
In 2008, I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I spent a summer working in Alaska at a girl scout camp, returning to New York in the fall to start graduate school. In 2011, I earned my Masters in Inclusive Education from Nazareth College in Rochester, New York.
A little about me:
Born and raised outside of Buffalo, New York, I'm no stranger to harsh winter conditions! After graduate school I took a position with ASD and have been living in Alasaka ever since. I met my husband shortly after moving here, and we were married last summer in beautiful Hatcher Pass. We spend our time together outside- camping, snowmaching and going on side by side adventures! I also love reading, hiking and learning new things.
Please contact me if you ever have questions or concerns. I'm very passionate about education and in my belief that all students can learn and should feel safe and comfortable at school.
