Hello and thanks for visiting our classroom page!
Let me introduce myself... I grew up in the suburbs outside of Chicago, IL and received a BFA from Northern Michigan University.  I've also attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, and Alaska Pacific University.  My husband and I moved from Anchorage to The Valley in 2001.  We have two daughters who have attended Cottonwood Creek Elementary.  We live with two cats, two dogs, several laying hens, and a gold fish or two.  Some of my favorite things to do are: gardening, photography, backpacking/hiking, camping, fishing, playing volleyball, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and attending live theater and various artistic/musical performances.  Oh, and I like to read. ;)
I am very happy to be here at Cottonwood Creek, teaching a second/third grade combined class in '20-'21.  This year, students will become more and more fluent readers and writers, gaining confidence for a lifetime of meaningful communication.  They will learn to read carefully, critically, and fluently.  Readers can learn anything!  Students will also become confident mathematicians, mastering double-digit addition and subtraction, and building foundations for multiplication and division among other skills.  In addition, the class will learn to write cursive.
Families are important to our classroom community.  Know that you are valued and welcome as partners, mentors, role models, and volunteers from afar.  I am grateful for the gifts of your time and talents that are shared with your student every day.  Together we can do great things!  When you need to contact me, the best way to reach me is at the email address listed above.
    Your partner in education,
