Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Kathryn Brehm

I have lived in Alaska all of my life.  Born in Anchorage, I went to Kindergarten at Turnagain.  My family then moved to Wasilla. I attended Cottonwood Creek Elementary School, Teeland Middle, and then graduated in 2008 from Colony High School.  I attended the University of Alaska Anchorage and received my BA in Elementary Education in 2012.  I began working at Taku Elementary the same year as a long term sub in a 3rd grade classroom.  The following year I was hired full time to teach Kindergarten.  I rotated up the next year with several of my students to first grade.  The past two years I took off to work part time as a sub in the Mat-Su school district to spend some time at home raising my little ones.  I am so excited to get back into teaching my own classroom this year!  I enjoy reading, drinking coffee, and playing outdoors with my two children in my free time.  I love vacationing in sunny, warm places and growing my garden in the summer.  I can't wait to help educated and cultivate a love of learning in my students!
