This is my tenth year teaching in the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District as a licensed teacher.  I started at Colony High School where I served as librarian.  The following year, I began teaching English/Literature at Wasilla High School and I've been here ever since then.  I've taught many different things in my time at Wasilla, and all of them have been interesting and fun!  I even spent two years teaching in the AdvancePath Academy while it was housed here at Wasilla High School.  Before I was hired as a licensed teacher, I worked for two years as a substitute teacher.

This is my fifth year teaching in the social studies department at Wasilla, and I am currently teaching Alaska history, genocide and holocaust studies, and world history.  I love what I do, and it makes my day to come into work and spend my day with students.

In addition to teaching for the social studies department, I also teach Bible as Literature and creative writing.

I currently hold two degrees. My first degree is a B.A. in Writing and Literature from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon. My second degree is a Master of Education, Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona.

If parents have any questions about one of my classes or their student’s progress and performance in my class, please feel free to email me!  I am always happy to brag about my students!  I promise, I always have a plan for helping struggling students succeed in my classes and I don’t believe in secrets, so don’t hesitate.
