Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Marcie Sundly
Welcome to Dena'ina Elementary School! The 2021-2022 school year marks my 16th year teaching. I am looking forward to many adventures and all the fun we will have together in third grade.
In 2005, I graduated from Central Washington University with me B.S. in Elementry Education (K-8) and Special Education (K-12). I continuted my education and earned my Masters as a Reading Specialist. Throughout my many year teaching in the MSBSD, I have recieved many different trainings that apply to education and peer coaching.
A little about me:
Born and raised in Seward, Alaska. I grew up fishing and doing many activities outdoors. I chose to go to college out of state, and upon graduating felt the mountains calling me home. I accepted a position as a resource teacher at Wasilla High School, where I taught English and Reading Programs. In 2018, I decided to work in school with my own children and accepted a resource position at Dena'ina Elementry. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, though I am new to the experience and taking bike rides with my two boys. Most of my spare time is eaten up by family activities (mostly soccer games). We enjoy the outdoors Alaska has to offer as well as snuggling up with a good book.
Please contact me if you ever have questions or concerns. I'm very passionate about education and in my belief that all students are able to make growth and should feel safe and comfortable at school.
