    Mr. Parsons happily joined the CTHS staff in 2005 as a plankowner. 
     
    Formally, he was on staff at Houston High School and Houston Middle School for seventeen years. Before teaching his classes in the Mat Su School District, Mr. Parsons worked as a mud engineer with Baroid Petroleum Services on the North Slope and the Rocky Mountains for seven years. 
     
    Previous to working in the oil business, he taught math and science to middle school children in Greeley, Colorado, after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado.
     
    Mr. Parsons has been happily married for forty years to his wife, Eva, a retired French teacher formally teaching at Wasilla High School.  He and his wife are proud of their daughter Samantha's graduation from Florida State University and Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Samantha currently works as a HR Specialist for Honeywell Corporation in Minneapolis, MN. 
    Mr. Parsons is excited to teach juniors American Literature and seniors Tech Writing this year. 
     
    Little known facts about Mr. Parsons:
     
    He loves reading the same novels students love to read.
     
    He loves spending time with his black Labrador, Kenai.
     
    He loves commuting to CTHS by bicycle in all weathers, the colder and windier, the better.
