As a teacher, I see my responsibility is in teaching students to become lifelong learners, not in teaching a specific subject. In order to assist stuI attempt to make learning applicable, enjoyable, and motivating, but at the same time, not simplified. I have high standards for my students because they are capable of obtaining these goals. These children’s brains are sponges and are capable of soaking up information at an unbelievable rate. They must learn to use their minds and question what is going on around them.

Learning happens at all times, it is my job to focus that learning on the things my students will benefit from. This virtue is applied in my design of lessons, activities, and units. It is often difficult to predict what learning opportunity will be the thing that clicks with any given student. Some value athletics, reading, or science, but some value music, clothes, snow machines, video games, or movies. Therefore, the greater the number and diversity of learning opportunities students are provided with, the greater the probability that I will find what will intrinsically motivate a student. Even more important that this, hopefully my students will discover what they are motivated by.

Please feel free to contact me if you think you can help me with my quest to educate students.
