My husband and I have two sons and live on a mini-ranch with 3 horses, one dog, four cats, a banty hen, four geese, and 9 tropical fish. Animal person??? I'm thinkin'! My hobbies are working with horses, gardening, studying Spanish, hiking/camping/boating, and international travel. I was greatly honored to be nominated by my students and selected as BP Teacher of Excellence for 2017 and KTVA Teacher of the Week for January 2017, awards that recognize the effort that our team - parents, kids, and teachers put forth in educating our PJMS students.I am delighted to welcome back my sixth graders from last year and to meet my new 7th graders as well. CNN Student News is on the agenda so we will be "citizens of the world" -- tuned in to what's happening now! As we explore the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa we will learn their history, culture, geography, economics, and politics, and also get acquainted with the foods, dress, customs, music, and dance of these parts of the planet.
