The school is named for a majestic mountain, Pioneer Peak, in the Matanuska Valley. It is part of the Matanuska-Susitna (Mat-Su) Borough School District located in Palmer Alaska. Pioneer Peak Elementary School opened during the 1985-86 school year.The mission of Pioneer Peak Elementary is to work together with families and community to provide a safe, positive learning environment where all students can be successful life-long learners.
