Musicians are made not born! We all have musical potential and choir is an opportunity to develop and learn how to sing. There is a common misconception that you have to know how to sing to join choir. This couldn’t be further from the truth! In fact it’s the opposite, you join choir because you want to learn how!
The choir is performance based compared to what goes on in your students general music class (learning centered). Students will still be learning concepts about music but they will be geared more toward vocal technique and performance preparation. Some aims of the group are to build confidence in ones singing ability as well as their ability to perform in front of audiences. The repertoire is diverse pulling from traditional American tunes, modern pop, jazz and multi-cultural settings.
