• Mrs. Mattson and her son
        
     
     
          Mrs. Cheri Mattson grew up in Spokane, 
          Washington.  She came to Alaska in 1985,       
          where she attended Wasilla Jr. High and 
          graduated from Wasilla High in 1990. She     
          has two children, Alexis and Andrew. Cheri
          attended UAA where she got her Bachelor's in
          Education. In 2004, she completed her Masters
          degree in Educational Administration through
          National University. 
     
     
     
     
     

     

    Mrs. Mattson has taught 8 years in kindergarten, seven years in first grade, one year in second, one year in fourth and was interim-principal at Meadow Lakes in 2005. Fall of 2015 she was selected to be the new principal (and first female principal ever) at Tanaina Elementary.

    Being a part of education
    has been a dream for Mrs. Mattson since she was in third grade.  She enjoyed giving back by helping form positive experiences for children in their foundational years. She is  happy to work with parents in building a solid foundation in education for children to learn and grow!
