Welcome to Eastern Hemisphere Distance Learning!
Throughout this next several weeks, please remember that we are all in this together. Assignments will not be too difficult, but will provide the content that we need to reach in the 4th quarter. Assignments should not be frustrating. If they are, please stop and email me so that I can be of assistance. We will work together to get through this difficult time.
My office hours are from 11:00AM-3:00 PM daily, Monday-Friday. I often check emails outside of this time, but I can guarantee that I am available during this time. I will return all emails no later than 24 hours later.
All assignments will be posted on Schoology. Videos and reading links will be attached. I will add comments to assignmnets on Schoology, so be sure to go back and check to see if you want to re-do an assignment for a higher grade.
Assignments can be submitted online at Schoology as well. If you are having trouble submitting, you can share the assignment with me on google or email it to me at my school address.
Assignments can be done at your own pace. The due dates are there to help keep you organized.
Zoom meetings are OPTIONAL.
I will schedule Zoom meeting every 2 weeks to check in with you and see if anyone has questions.
You can also contact me if you'd like to schedule a Zoom appointment to get help.
I will enter grades at least twice a week to help you know what is missing. You can re-do an assignment for a higher grade if you'd like.
I am entering 1 grade each week in studentvue/parentvue and all other assignments will be graded on Schoology, but are considered practice.
The grading scale will be:
90-100 = A
80-89 = B
65-79 = C
beow 65 = No Grade
Standards we will cover in Eastern Hemisphere are:
G.D2 Explain how and why human networks, including networks for communications and for transportation of people and goods, are linked globally.
G.D4 Analyze how changes in technology, transportation, and communication impact social, cultural, economic, and political activity
H.B2 Understand the people and the political, geographic, economic, cultural, social, and environmental events that have shaped.
H.B4 Recognize the importance of time, ideas, institutions, people, places, cultures, and events in understanding large historical patterns.
H.B5 Evaluate the influence of context upon historical understanding.
Please email Mrs. Wheeler or Mr. Hagenseiker if there is anything that you need help with.
