In case you missed it....

  • Letter e-mailed to parents on 1/19/2018

    Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

You are invited to attend a meeting at CTHS on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 5:30 P. M.  We will spend 15 minutes going over some logistics (passports, spending money, etc), and the remaining 15 minutes will be left to Mr. Okeson, who will be addressing the traveling students.

Students at Career Tech will have a meeting during lunch a week prior to departure (2/28/2018).  I have included 3 attachments in the e-mail sent home today that I will be needing back from parents.

Student Permission Slip - Please sign the permission slip and return it to me.
Short Term Field Trip Insurance - I sent an e-mail earlier last week about the mandatory Short Term Field Trip Insurance.  Checks need to be made out to CTHS in the amount of $15.75.  Our school will be sending in all the forms and the money together.
Health Form – Please return to me.

What to bring to the meeting:

    ·         2 copies of passport

    ·         List of prescriptions (if taking any)

    ·         If not living with both parents, please bring a notarized document stating that parent/guardian is aware of trip.  Both parents must give permission to travel.

    Please be aware:

o   All students need to complete/update their passport information on the WorldStrides website. I have been informed that this is mandated by the U.S. Government, as of April 1, 2002.

In addition, please be aware that all passports must be valid for at least 6 months after the date of return.
Note – If your child is not a U. S. citizen, you are responsible for obtaining all travel documents (including visas) needed for travel.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 352-0493.

    Update for parents/guardians

    12/7/2017

    Dear Parents/Guardians,

This note is to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances the date of our arrival and departure to Costa Rica has changed.  I have tried very hard over the past week to keep the original itinerary, however, my efforts have been unsuccessful.  Mr. Okeson and Mr. Simmons are aware of the situation and continue to support the World Language Program at Career Tech.

The new travel dates are March 6, 2018 - March 15, 2018).  I have already talked to most of the students and they are aware that they will be missing an additional day of school.  Students are expected to communicate with their teachers and make up assignments as expected.

Please accept my apologies!  A copy of this letter along with other information regarding our trip is posted on the school´s website. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at 352-0493.

    Sincerely,

    Sra. Verplancke
