    Course Description:


    • Foundations of PE is designed to introduce students to the basic skills of weight training, team sports, running, and plyometrics for lifetime fitness. Students will develop a positive self-concept; learn self-discipline, and good sportsmanship/citizenship.  The class is designed to improve your current level of fitness, be ready to work!

    Course Objectives/Outcomes:


    1. Demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

    2. Demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

    3. Participates regularly in physical activity.

    4. Achieves and maintains a healthy-enhancing level of physical fitness.

    5. Exhibits responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.

    6. Values physical activity for health, enjoyment, challenge, self-expression, and/or social interaction.

    7. Learn and correctly be able to use terminology frequently used fitness related activities.

    8. Enhance physical fitness through cross-training, weights, and game play.
