• About Me

Palmer Jr. Middle School has been my professional home for about 20 years. For the first 15 wonderful years at PJMS, I specialized in 7th grade language arts. A few years ago, I started another wonderful chapter by specializing in computers. While I miss teaching reading and writing, I really enjoy guiding students toward computer literacy.

I was born in Anchorage and graduated from Dimond/Mears. My husband and I moved to Palmer when the Glenn Highway was just two lanes, back when Palmer had one blinking red light and our grocery store was D&A Super. It was a great town then and continues to be a great place to live and raise families.

In the summer, I enjoy four-wheeling, hiking, and camping. In the winter, it's snowmachining, teaching, and visiting with family and friends. I drive '60s muscle cars cars and take advantage of the shooting range nearby. Not to brag too much, but my chocolate chip cookies are literally world famous. Ask me about them sometime. If there's a batch just coming out of the oven, I'll save you some! :)

If you know me at all, you'll know that I LOVE VOLLEYBALL! I played in high school, a little in college, and have been on championship teams as an adult. I coach the PJM 7th grade volleyball team and boys volleyball club. For nearly 30 years I served as the director for Northern Lights Volleyball Club, the Valley's first and largest community volleyball club. I have officiated volleyball at the local, state, and national levels. Currently, I focus on coaching at PJMS and cheering for good volleyball when my granddaughter's local high school team competes.

I look forward to a great school year!

My husband and I love to explore local trails on our 4-wheelers and enjoy the grand summer scenery. When the snow gets deep enough, we switch to snowmachines and ride.
