MSBSD ELEMENTARY TRACK MEET GENERAL RULES

Except as defined below, it is the intention of the Meet Coordinators that the MSBSD Elementary track meet conforms to the USTAF rules for youth track and field events.

• Participants must be registered for their events. 
• Each participant may be registered in 4 events total, including individual running, relay, and field events.
  
  • If - due to absence or injury - a relay team is missing enough members to compete, a runner with 4 events can substitute for that team. 
  • Runners should not serve in multiple substitutions.

• All events except high jump may have an unlimited number of participants. 
• Please limit the number of participants in the high jump to no more than four jumpers, or 40% of your total team number, whichever is greater.

• Spikes or cleats (including rubber cleats) are not allowed in any event.

• All events are divided into grade and gender groups for competition. 
• If a relay team must make use of mixed gender and/or grade participants, the team will compete at the highest grade level (5th) and in the boys' events.

• For all running events, only the times of the top 8 finishers will be recorded and reported. In races with more participants, coaches who want their runners' times will need to capture those on their own.
