Suzette graduated with a degree from Mat-Su Community College in 2006. She joined the Program for the Visually Impaired as a Vision Paraprofessional in Fall 2007. As such, she reads, writes, transcribes, and teaches braille reading and writing. She makes tactile maps, graphs, and charts, assists with Nemeth Braille code (braille math), and works with several students.

Suzette is currently enrolled in an intensive Literary Braille Transcribing Course sponsored by the National Federation of the Blind and the Jernigan Institute. She hopes to be a fully Nationally Certified Braille Transcriptionist by Summer 2013. As a mother of four lovely teenagers, she keeps busy at home and work.
