    Hello Families!!

Welcome to a fabulous new school year!!  I have the privilege of working with students, families, and staff at five elementary schools: John Shaw, Finger Lake, Ron Larson, Pioneer Peak, and Snowshoe.  I am an English language educator supporting your child's English language acquistion. My role is to:

    • provide instructional support in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing for students learning English as a second language.
    • assist classroom teachers who work with your student by sharing instructional resources and strategies to meet the diverse needs of English language learners.
    • advocate for your child's specific needs and cultural identity, as we believe it is vastly important in the development of a multicultural citizen.

Therefore, learning the English language, supporting learning, and increasing achievement are our collective goals.

As parents, you are key members of our school community.  We appreciate your cultural and linguistic expertise, as well as your parental values and interests.  We encourage you to visit the school often and get involved in school activities, of course in a COVID safe manner.  If you need an interperter for meetings or parent-teacher conferences, please let the school or me know, so we can make arrangements for you.

Finally, the most important thing you can do for your chid is read with them, to them, and let them read to you or their siblings.  By encouraging your child to read and write, you will help your child develop a love for learning, while fostering good literacy skills and directly impacting your child's success in school.

We may have a few challenges as we navigate this school year, but we will be able to work together and figure out the best road to take along the way. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your student's progress, do not hesitate to reach out to me.  I am looking forward to an AMAZING year working and learning together!!

    Together in education,
