Hello Big Lake Families!!  I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your student this year.  Home-school communication is an important piece to an effective and prosperous learning environment.  Therefore, this class website is considered my "homebase" to communication and keep families updated on classroom happenings and resources to support learning and achievement.

Students - Use this website as an opportunity to enhance your learning opportunities in class.  With parent/guardian permission, engage in a webquest, print learning resources, or do some topical research and share your findings with us in class.  Remember to use your Google Classroom as another resource to stay updated on assignments, share new ideas with your classmates, and share learning with your parents/guardians.

Parents - Use this website to be "in the know" about class learning projects, assignments, and upcoming events. Check out the resources that support learning to provide an optimum experience for your student at home.  Remember to check out your Synergy Parent account to monitor your student's academic and behavioral progress each week.

As always, the more communication that occurs between all of us, the more successful your student will be at school and home.  This results in increased learning and achievement, less stress, AND a positive, happy student!

I am looking forward to an AMAZING year working together!!

    Together in education,

    Project Materials

  • Recently, I posted a DonorsChoose project for this school year.  DonorsChoose is a nonprofit site that connects teachers to a nationwide community of classroom supporters.  These supporters donate monetary funds to projects they value, resulting in project items getting into students' hands to support learning and achievement.

Here is the link to our project.  The learning materials focus on taking student coding skills to the next level with robotics. This project focuses learning on science, technology, engineering, and math.  When working with these materials, students develop 21st century skills including higher levels of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.

I am also working to obtain additional STEM materials via the Civil Air Patrol STEM program.  These materials are free to our classroom and also support our developing 21st century skills.

Please share our project with your family and friends network and consider contributing if you are able. Every dollar counts and supports learning.  One never knows who is inspired to contribute funds to support learning and achievement.

THANK YOU for your support with our Donors Choose projects. Student learning is inspired when they have learning opportunities that promote curiosity and creativity.
