    Teaching Experience

I have been teaching in the district since 2001 where my first experience was at Palmer High School and Pioneer Peak Elementary while doing my student teaching. My first year as a certified teacher I taught at Wasilla High School in the S.M.A.R.T. program. During that first year I was also an assistant football and track coach. My next couple of years at Wasilla High School I was the Athletic Director and head football and track coach. My last two years at Wasilla High School I taught Health and was an assistant track coach. I have been at CTHS since 2008.

    Interests

Coaching, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, running, biking, skiing, and traveling. I also enjoy watching the Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies and Bobcats.

    Professional Interest

My career choice has stemmed from when I was in high school; I helped coach a Pop Warner football team. Also, in high school, prep sports gave me curiosity in how the body works and the understanding on how important physical fitness was. While attending college, I was unsure of how to find a career that would accommodate my true interests in health and fitness. After a few semesters of general classes, I had come to the conclusion that a P.E. teacher and Coach would allow me to pursue my interest even beyond college. Since health and physical fitness are constantly evolving, I feel that teaching gives me the opportunity to not only learn, but to communicate that information to young people. The satisfaction in doing what I love is truly exciting for me everyday.
