• Social Studies

Social Studies is  a vital component of our students’ experience at CTHS. It is the third ‘C’ of  our complete education;  College, Career and Citizenship. Applied knowledge of history, government, civics, and economics is necessary for developing civic competency.  Students gain insight into historical developments in each of the five Pathways; they engage in writing, listening, and speaking activities to build content knowledge, and develop civic skills and dispositions. They practice good judgment by analyzing historical decisions and consequences and learn skills and content to make them informed, participating citizens.  Students acquire and apply civic competencies to uphold the principles of freedom, equity and justice for all in today’s democratic society.
