Meadow Lakes Elementary qualifies as a CEP school. August 2017

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. A key provision of The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA, Public Law 111-296; December 13, 2010), CEP allows the nation’s low income schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without the burden of collecting household applications. Instead, schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students participating in other specific means-tested programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

What's this mean for our students? Every student will receive breakfast and lunch at NO COST to families. Families are NOT required to fill out lunch applications. Determination was made that qualifies Meadow Lakes Elementary a CEP school based on services that are being provided to families in our community.

As a requirement of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, states and school districts must issue annual report cards to parents. The purpose of the report card is to provide parents with information about the district and their child’s school in terms of teacher qualifications, academic achievement, and school/district accountability. To access the report cards click the link below. If you would like a written copy of our school’s report card, please contact the office at 352-6100.
