Information about the MSBSD At-Home Virtual Learning option is now available to share with families. The program uses standards-based curriculum purchased by DEED from Florida Virtual School. The curriculum is housed on the BUZZ Agilix learning management system where lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments are organized into modules. Parents will gain access as “observers” of their student’s work with rights to view all assignments and assessments plus the gradebook.

A MSBSD certified teacher will guide the learning process and work with a parent/guardian who will act as a learning coach. Also, it will be organized on one consistent LMS. Please take time to view the Information to Share with Parents to learn more about the program.

Meadow Lakes Elementary qualifies as a CEP school.

            August 2017

The Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) is a meal service option for schools and school districts in low-income areas. A key provision of The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act (HHFKA, Public Law 111-296; December 13, 2010), CEP allows the nation’s low income schools and districts to serve breakfast and lunch at no cost to all enrolled students without the burden of collecting household applications. Instead, schools that adopt CEP are reimbursed using a formula based on the percentage of students participating in other specific means-tested programs, such as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).

What's this mean for our students? Every student will receive breakfast and lunch at NO COST to families. Families are NOT required to fill out lunch applications. Determination was made that qualifies Meadow Lakes Elementary a CEP school based on services that are being provided to families in our community.
