The National Science Bowl® is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy. According to the National Science Bowl® website, "It is a nationwide academic competition that tests students' knowledge in all areas of science and mathematics. Teams face-off in a fast-paced question-and-answer format, being tested on a range of science disciplines including biology, chemistry, Earth science, physics, energy, and math." This is the 26th year of the competition.
The Alaska Regional High School Science Bowl Competition is hosted by MSBSD at Mat-Su Career & Technical High School. The National Science Bowl Competition will be held at the National 4-H Conference Center outside Washington, D.C., April 27-May 1.
Jana DePriest, MSBSD Office of Instruction, is District and Alaska Regional Coordinator. Tim Lundt is science teacher at the hosting school, Mat-Su CTHS.
