  • Mat-Su Health Foundation $5000 Grant awarded to Sherrod Elementary
    It includes funding for the following:A nutrition curriculum for all 4th and 5th grade classes next school year, Stipend for an adult to mangae a before school program known as "Early Morning Movers", provides health snacks for family night events and before and after school fitness activities.   • Online Absence Reporting Available on iParent
    Parents—Online Absence Reporting. Parents now have a method to report online student absences. A written note or telephone call is still acceptable, but online reporting is easy through iParent. Parents know if the absence is excused and for what reason. It is a way for schools to accurately report and track data on student absences.

        • Thank you Mat-Su Health Foundation for awarding a $1000 grant to Sherrod Elementary student programs. This grant pays for our Health and Safety Week in April and our year long Movin' Program. We appreciate all you do for students at Sherrod.

        • Thank you to our wonderful Carrs/Safeway store for participating in the eScrip program. This program gives our school a percentage of registered shoppers purchases. We have received almost $800 from Carrs/Safeway to pay for student activities at Sherrod Elementary since July 1, 2011.  If you have not signed up yet please go to www.escip.com  click on Register Now and it’s easy and free. We are listed as Sherrod Elementary School PTA. However, the funds go directly to our student activity fund.

          MSBSD Website users may have already discovered mobile web app delivery of our site when they are on their smart phone.  The mobile web app, giving parents and the community quick access to contact information, calendar features, up-to-date news and other features, is now online.  Just visit www.matsuk12.us on your smart phone.  Watch for schools to be added over the next month too!

        • Arrow MSBSD START TIMES REMAIN SAME FOR 2012-2013!
          School start and end times will remain the same for the 2012-13 school year as this school year. Elementary schools time is 9:15 to 3:45, and middle/secondary schools time is 7:45 to 2:15.
