• PJMS CHOIR STUDENTS SING AT ANNUAL COVENANT HOUSE CANDLELIGHT VIGIL

    This year's Candlelight Vigil for Homeless Youth was held at the Anchorage Museum on November 20th. Mr. Swalling's PJMS choir students performed there to help remember the thousands of homeless youth who have entered the doors of Covenant House Alaska.     The MSBSD School Board has approved the 2015-2016 School Year Calendar. Community input included an online survey with over 3500 responses and public comment.

  • MSBSD ENANUAQ PROGRAMS HOSTS FAMILY NIGHTS

    MSBSD Enanuaq Preschool Program is academic center-based for three and four-year-old Alaska Native and Native American children to prepare them for kindergarten readiness. There are sessions at Wasilla High and Burchell High. The high school program is designed to support supplemental educational learning opportunities through the federally funded Alaska Native Education Program. The grant expires in FY15.

    Last year the state legislature passed HB278, which repealed the High School Graduation Qualifying Exam for Alaska students, but now requires that all 11th grade students take a College or Career Readiness Assessment (CCRA) specifically the ACT, SAT, or WorkKeys. Read More....
