  • JACINDA DANNER IS 2017 NATIONAL BRAILLE TEACHER OF THE YEAR

    For students across the District, Mrs. Danner held a White Cane Awareness Day, working with the Department of Transportation which installed an accessible pedestrian signal (audio) at Bogard and Crusey. Mrs. Danner is a teachers of students with visual impairments and mobility specialist. Nominated by parents and colleagues, Mrs. Danner will be honored at The Braille Challenge Finals in June in Los Angeles.

  • MSBSD'S FIRST DRIVE-THRU STUDENT-RUN COFFEE SHOP

    "April 10th marked the grand opening of Twindly Bridge's Drive-thru Coffee Shop," reports Principal, John Weetman. "I spent 20 sessions with students helping them learn how to start a small business," said Weetman.         Dr. Monica Goyette hired as MSBSD Superintendent

        Monica Goyette, Ed.D. was hired on April 5 as the Superintendent of the Mat-Su Borough School District. Dr. Goyette has served the District for 18 years as a counselor, teacher, and school principal. For the past four years, Dr. Goyette has been at the District office as Executive Director of Instruction. For the 2015-2016 school year, she was hired as the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction.

        In making the appointment of Dr. Goyette, the School Board is confident that the work and dedication to student learning and engagement remains high. Dedicated to the mission, we prepare all students for success, programs and learning options will move forward.

          School start/end times will remain the same for the 2016-2017 school year.
          Elementary schools time is 9:15 to 3:45.
          Middle/secondary schools time is 7:45 to 2:15.
          There are exceptions for northern schools:
          Willow start time is 8:20. Dismissal at 3:00 on M, Tu, Th, Fri & 1:40 on W.
          Talkeetna begins at 8:30. Dismissal at 3:05 on M, Tu, Th, Fri & 2:05 on W.
          Trapper Creek begins at 8:30. Dismissal at 3:00.
          Su Valley Jr/Sr High School begins at 8:30. Dismissal is at 2:54.
          Glacier View School begins at 8:30. Dismissal is at 2:56.
          If your child attends a charter school, confirm the time with your school.
