  • Online Absence Reporting Available on iParent
    Parents now have a method to report online student absences. A written note or telephone call is still acceptable, but online reporting is easy through iParent. Parents know if the absence is excused and for what reason. It is a way for schools to accurately report and track data on student absences.

          Before and after school activities can be a great extension of the school day. Shaw is proud to offer a wide variety of opportunities for our students, from music to math and more. We want kids to work hard and then play hard.   Below is a list of our activities we will offer for second semester Thank you for your support in helping to shuttle kids back and forth so they can stay and play with us.

        • math man Shaw Math Masters
          This year, we are launching our math facts incentive program. Each grade level will have a math fact to master. Math Masters will be announced monthly on the morning show, in the newsletter, and earn a Sundog Dog Tag. Multiplication is one of the most important and challenging benchmarks. Students at this level will have the opportunity to earn a Sundog T-Shirt. Don’t worry, 4th and 5th grade students – you will have an opportunity to earn one this year, too! 
           
                     Math Grade Level Benchmarks

                   K = Write numbers 0 – 20 (Earn Dog tag)

                   1st = Rocket Math Addition A-Z (Earn Dog tag)

                   2nd = Rocket Math Subtraction A-Z (Earn Dog tag)

                   3rd = Rocket Math Multiplication A-Z (Earn Dog tag + T-Shirt)

                   4th = Rocket Math Division A-Z (Earn Dog tag + T-Shirt)

                   5th = Mad Minute Fractions (Earn Dog tag + T-Shirt)

          MSBSD Website users may have already discovered mobile web app delivery of our site when they are on their smart phone.  The mobile web app, giving parents and the community quick access to contact information, calendar features, up-to-date news and other features, is now online.  Just visit www.matsuk12.us on your smart phone.  Watch for schools to be added over the next month too!

        • Arrow MSBSD START TIMES REMAIN SAME FOR 2012-2013!
          School start and end times will remain the same for the 2012-13 school year as this school year. Elementary schools time is 9:15 to 3:45, and middle/secondary schools time is 7:45 to 2:15.
