The last day of school for students and staff is Friday December 19th. Winter break continues thru January 5th for students, staff returns on January 5th for a work day. School for students is back in session on Januray 6th. Knik staff wishes everyone a joyous, and safe holiday season.
The Parents Right to Know letter is distributed to all families in our school. It is included in our September Newsletter, and a link has been added to the shortcuts menu. The purpose of this letter is to inform parents of their right to inquire about the professional qualifications of their child’s teacher.
MSBSD Enanuaq Preschool Program is academic center-based for three and four-year-old Alaska Native and Native American children to prepare them for kindergarten readiness. There are sessions at Wasilla High and Burchell High. The high school program is designed to support supplemental educational learning opportunities through the federally funded Alaska Native Education Program. The grant expires in FY15.
Thursday and Friday, October 30 and 31, are Parent/Teacher Conference Days in the MSBSD. Please check with your school for schedules. If your child attends a non-traditional Mat-Su school, follow your school's calendar. For traditional schools, no school for students on these two days.

Last year the state legislature passed HB278, which repealed the High School Graduation Qualifying Exam for Alaska students, but now requires that all 11th grade students take a College or Career Readiness Assessment (CCRA) specifically the ACT, SAT, or WorkKeys. Read More....
