  • MSBSD 2014 SBA/HSGQE THIS WEEK

    It is time! Standards Based Assessments and High School Graduation Qualifying Exams beginning Tuesday, April 1. Every child in third through tenth grades in our District as well as the State of Alaska will be assessed through the state tests. Testing will conclude on Thursday for all but 4th, 8th, and 10th grade students. Children in these grades will test on science on Friday. Students will demonstrate their knowledge in reading, language arts, and math. Read for tips....

    Hosted by the Mat-Su Borough, the community had an opportunity to hear first-hand about the newest high school, slated to open in the fall of 2015. Attending the meeting was Caleb, a student at Iditarod Elementary, who made his own drawing of the new school. He hopes to enroll when the new school opens.

          Hola Houston High School. Señor Arroz is proud to announcethe Annual Advanced Spanish Field Trip to CHEPO’S!!! Excelente!!! Tuesday April22nd Students from Spanish 2 and 3 will be leaving at 10:00. And,this year, students in Spanish I with an A or B grade may come along!!! Makesure to get your Permission Slips in by Monday the 21st.

          The Willow Lions Club would like to give HHS seniors achance to submit a request for their scholarship.  At this time, theydon't have a formal application procedure, but all request must be received byApril 30, 2014. Ifyou are interested in this scholarship please see your counselor.

          Senior Fun Day is April 30!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! There are still plenty of spaces available!  Get your seat reserved now!           HHS Music Department will be holding its annual POPS concert onTuesday May 13th and auditions are coming up. If you have some musical talentand are interested in auditioning stop by the music room and grab an auditionform this week. All forms will be due Friday. Anyone can apply. 

           

          Earth day is April 22nd – that’s a Tuesday!  Start thinking about how you will spend theday honoring Earth day!  Save the world!

           

          Please check the lost and found and see if any of your items arein the bin.  We are coming up on the endof the year and those items will be donated if they are left after the end ofschool!

        • Arrow MSBSD START TIMES - 2013-2014!
          School start and end times will remain the same for the 2013-2014 school year. Elementary schools time is 9:15 to 3:45, and middle/secondary schools time is 7:45 to 2:15. There are exceptions for northern schools: Willow start time is 8:20 and dismissal at 3:00 on M, Tu, Th, Fri, and dismissal at 1:40 on Wed. Talkeetna begins at 8:30 with dismissal at 3:00 on M, Tu, Th, Fri, and dismissal on Wednesdays at 1:40. Trapper Creek begins at 8:30 and dismissal at 3:00. Su Valley Jr/Sr High School begins at 8:30 and dismissal is at 2:54. Also, if your child attends one of our six charter schools, confirm the time with your school.
