• Book Fair

    The “Bookaneer” Pirate-themed Book Fair coincides with Fall Parent Teacher Conferences. Scholastic books will be for sale in the library from October 24th - November 2nd, from 8:30 to 4:30. Children can purchase books during their library time or parents and children can buy books before and after school, and during conference days. All profits from the book fair go to buy more books, so thank you for supporting the library!

  • Fall Carnival!

    The annual Fall Carnival will be Friday, October 28th from 5:30-8 PM. There will be indoor trick-or-treating, concession food, a silent auction, games and prizes. Ticket pre-orders will be accepted through October 25th

    School is closed on Thursday, October 27th for Parent/Teacher conferences. Teachers will contact parents/guardians to schedule the conference.

  • Pickup/Drop Off

    Check out the August newsletter for a map of pickup/drop off locations. Doors open at 8:50am and school starts at 9:15. Please let the office know of ANY end of day changes by 3:20pm to ensure your child gets home in a timely manner.

  • Smencils

    The PTO will be selling scented pencils, known as "Smencils," for $1 each in the foyer after lunch every Monday, Wednesday and Friday

  • Popcorn Friday

    The first Friday of the month is popcorn Friday. After lunch, students can buy one bag of popcorn after lunch for 50 cents. The money will help buy supplies for Swanson teachers.

        Swanson Announcements


          "RESPECT" Tickets:  Every Friday, we celebrate those who are caught exhibiting good behavior and excellent choices by drawing names from each classroom for either a prize, an elevator ride or lunch with the Principal!
          Popcorn Fridays!  After lunch, the office begins selling a hot yummy bag of popcorn for .50 cents.  It's a great treat and a wonderful way to support our school!
          Box Tops - We collect General Mills Box Tops all year round.  We have two collection bins in the foyer and Box Top Bucks collection sheets on the wall outside the office door.  Every time a student brings a completed "buck" they will receive a prize from the office!

          School start/end times will remain the same for the 2016-2017 school year.
          Elementary schools time is 9:15 to 3:45.
          Middle/secondary schools time is 7:45 to 2:15.
          There are exceptions for northern schools:
          Willow start time is 8:20. Dismissal at 3:00 on M, Tu, Th, Fri & 1:40 on W.
          Talkeetna begins at 8:30. Dismissal at 3:05 on M, Tu, Th, Fri & 2:05 on W.
          Trapper Creek begins at 8:30. Dismissal at 3:00.
          Su Valley Jr/Sr High School begins at 8:30. Dismissal is at 2:54.
          If your child attends a charter school, confirm the time with your school.

          Parents—Online Absence Reporting. Parents now have a method to report online student absences. A written note or telephone call is still acceptable, but online reporting is easy through iParent.
