Nancy Haerer joins the CTHS staff with background in both high school counseling and experience as a Vocational Counselor with the State of Alaska. Part of her state work included helping Kenai Peninsula schools develop their career guidance curriculum. She also created and facilitated numerous comprehensive weeklong job search workshops for the Department of Labor. Following her dream of school counseling, a move to Anchorage from the Kenai provided her opportunity to go into school counseling full time. Prior to CTHS, Nancy spent 3 years in a private Anchorage K-12 school, and 3 years ‘outside’ at the junior and high school levels, before returning to Alaska and working for the MSBSD at Houston High for 2 years. Last year, Nancy accepted the role of district counseling coordinator. But her passion is working directly with students. CTHS provides the tremendous opportunity to blend her background and she is thrilled to be a part of this progressive team.
