Ben Eveland joins the CTHS staff with many years of both teaching and industry experience. After working for over 10 years in Construction, Ben began teaching Industrial Education and Safety in 1980 at Southwest Tech. School and Fenimore High School in Fenimore Wisconsin. Ben and his wife Jane moved to Kenai Alaska and taught Woods, Construction, and CAD for both Kenai Central High School and the University of Alaska at Kenai. Ben became the Vocational Education Coordinator for the Kenai, Athletic Director for Skyview High School, and Assistant Principal at Soldotna Middle School. The next journey led Ben and Jane to the Valley where he was blessed with opening the Mat-Su Career and Technical School.
Ben is excited to be working with students who have a passion for their future careers. He has been impressed with the student’s attitude and culture that they have developed at CTHS. The school is truly theirs and they have created a remarkable educational setting.
