If it stinks, it is chemistry.
If it is slimy, it is biology.
If it does not work, it is physics.

Yes, you read that correctly. Mrs. Hughes is now teaching 8th grade this year! This isn't the only change you'll notice when school starts. Let me tell you about a couple others:
Mrs. Hughes has moved down the hallway, now in room 410, directly across from the computer labs.
The Science/Social Studies schedule is no longer on the A/B rotation. Instead we will be going to a semester-based class. You'll have science one semester and social studies the other. This change will make it MUCH easier on students, parents, and teachers to remember schedules and homework.
What do you need for science class?
Bound composition book (no spirals or easy-tear notebooks). Mrs. Hughes will have composition books available for purchase for $0.25.
Recommended- have access to: graphing paper, hi-lighters, and markers/colored pencils
8th grade requirement: 3-ring binder with a section/tab for Science... be sure to have loose-leaf paper and a pencil pouch in the binder.
This Website is maintained for the purpose of keeping students, parents, and community members informed on the events within Mrs. Hughes' science classroom. This site will be updated with weekly details of homework assignments, class activities, science resource links, and other miscellaneous information. Whenever possible, homework assignments and labs will available in .pdf format for you to print at home. Don't have Adobe Reader at home? Download a free Adobe reader here.
